You Made My Dreams Come True
Dear Jeff,
Last week, Yale offered me a full-time staff position, and I accepted it.
I want to thank you so much for all of your advice, support, and techniques. I had worried that I wouldn’t find a job in academia that pays well, but they are offering me almost $100.000 to start based on my 10 years’ experience. I’m so thrilled (well, not about moving to New Haven, but because this is the highest I can go as an academian).
You made my dreams come true and I can’t thank you enough. Of course, there’s always the 90-days probation period.
Please keep me in your thoughts, and I hope I will have the occasion to cross paths with you again. Also, if you ever need a reference, or want me to post something else online, please let me know.
I owe you everything.

Very, very cool.

“… I Feel Like I am on a Real Career Track for the First Time in My Life”
Hi Jeff, I have been meaning to write you for quite a while. I met you in the fall of 2013.
I came to you very unhappy. I was working as a real estate agent and before that I had been a musician. When we met, you gave me about 10 career options you thought would be a good fit for me. You told me about User Experience Design, which you said would be a “reach” for me. But in the end, I realized that was what I was most interested in from the options we discussed.
To make a long story short, in the fall of 2014, I enrolled in General Assembly’s User Experience Design Immersive (boot camp). After several little freelance gigs and a paid internship, I am now a Junior UX Designer at __.
While the career transition was not easy by any means, it was well worth the time, money, and effort. I am making much better money, I have better work/life balance, and I feel like I am on a real career track for the first time in my life.
The money I spent meeting with you was well worth it. I doubt I ever would have found this if it hadn’t been for you, and I have found I am very passionate about what I do.
I’ve already recommended your services to one person and would not hesitate to do so again.

Has One Job Offer… And Two More Possible Job Offers
Dear Jeff,
I want to share the news with you that I found, and took, a new job and thank you for all of your help and support. I’ll be working at a Brooklyn company called XXXX where the projects sound interesting and I left both onsite interviews feeling good about my future co-workers.
I’m actually in a slightly weird place where I had to make a final decision on XXXX, before actually getting a yes/no answer from Yext and Google, so I guess nothing’s completely set in stone.
Anyway, thank you again for everything.
“…Your Sage Advice… Put My Candidacy at the Top of the List”
Just wanted to thank you for all you great advice and guidance in my job search. I got a job as the Director of XXX for NYC.
I could not have done it without your sage advice which really put my candidacy at the top of the list.
Hope your summer is going by well. Mine certainly is.

“Your Help Is Amazing!!!”
Hey Jeff!
Before our meeting last week I interviewed for the position of Office Manager/Marketing Assistant for small food company based in Chelsea, I came from the interview to your office.
Well, they had asked to submit a cover letter and resume (the interview happened through networking on the part of my boyfriend) and I took your advice in its drafting. I constantly returned to skills, motivation and manageability as well as tweaking my resume to read more like that of a hospitality professional who truly cares (which I do…. It just didn’t read that way).
As you have probably guessed… I got the job!!!!!!!!!! It is part time to start but they are expanding rapidly! This way I can keep one foot planted in restaurant land (as a source of revenue) while learning the ins and outs of running a small food business.
AWESOME!!! Soooooooooooo… I would like to see you again but I am thinking our next session would be more productive after a few months at the new gig. That way I will be able to report on what strengths I am exhibiting, be able to detail my weaknesses and clarify where I might want to go from here. Cool!?!
AND OH… no joke. When I got the offer, the CEO said to me over the phone, “You have an incredible energy that will set the tone for us as we move forward. I don’t even care that you don’t know Quickbooks. That part is teachable.” Exactly like we talked about!!! REEALLLLY stoked!

Thanks for the heads up. As of now, I am doing really well.
I have completed my two resumes, operations and HR/Training and feel very confident in them. (I am attaching here just so you can see them.)
I am really happy with what we accomplished in our 2 sessions.
I was not sure at first how it would work, but could not be more happy with where I am currently in my job search. I have been applying for positions. Just Received a Call from a Company He Wants to Work For…
Thank you so much for you input today. It was terrific.
I need see you more often, since as I was on the train from your office to my volunteering gig I received a phone call from a medical education company! I talked with him for a bit, he told me to review the job description (attached) and the company website and call him tomorrow to discuss further and ask any questions.
It fits very well into the medical writing and communications genre we spoke of.

Interview went very well. Met with 5 guys, including the founder of the firm, and got some very positive feedback already. Was in there for a little over three hours.

Hope you’re doing well. Just wanted to let you know that I recently started as an underwriter at XXXX.
The process happened very quickly, but your LinkedIn and resume advice proved very helpful.
I ended up juggling three offers at the end am pleased to be working at my top pick.

“I Cannot Thank You Enough”
I wanted to give you an update on my situation. Since our last meeting some months ago, I have been diligently re-working my resume as we discussed, utilizing the job search tactics as discussed and overall just following what you have outlined to a T.
I am happy to report, I have a new position starting at the end of the month. I was able to obtain a “Restaurant Operations Specialist” position with the technology company XXXX. I am very excited about this new opportunity, especially since the company is now a subsidiary of XXXX.
I cannot thank you enough.
Without your services this would not have been possible.
THANK YOU.
“I Saw a Huge Difference In Response Rates…”
It’s been a while since I went through your coaching program (May – I think?) but I wanted to let you know how my job search went as a result your coaching. After updating my LinkedIn page, resume and cover letter per your coaching recommendations, I saw a huge difference in response rates and interest levels from employers. I was contacted by several recruiters and companies independently and made it to the at least the first round interview for several interviews.
I was recently told by at least three people in interviews that they “loved my resume” and also had three job offers: AAAA, BBBB, and CCCC. I decided to go with CCCC and I’ll be the new Director of Consumer Insights starting December 1st. The company is relatively new so it’s an energetic and creative working culture which will a nice change. It’s a lot more responsibility than I’ve had with previous positions which is exciting and I think it will be a great place for me to grow in my career.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know where I finally landed and I know it’s a result of your coaching!

He Has Too Many Interviews & Job Offers!
I hope this email finds you well!
I’m reaching out because I’m having a bit of a crisis and I’d love to get your advice on what you think I should do.
Long story short…
I had an interview on Monday for an HR Assistant position at company A that I’m definitely interested in working for. I was moved to the second round of interviews on Tuesday with the Vice President of HR and he extended an offer to which I accepted. The main reason I accepted (so quickly) was because I didn’t have any other opportunities lined up (at the time) and I’m currently running low on money to support myself while unemployed. I figured this was a good opportunity at just the right time.
Fast forward to today…
I’ve received two emails from companies that are interested in interviewing me for more senior HR generalist and talent acquisition positions. This is definitely better than the HR Assistant position that I’ve already accepted at company A, and I’d love to explore what these other companies (B,C) have to offer. The problem is that I’ve already signed much of the documentation for company A and they’d love for me to get started on Monday. I’m now confronted with the challenge of trying to schedule interviews with companies B, C to learn more about what they’re offering without doing harm to my reputation with company A.
Do you think I should schedule interviews with company B and C for next week and subsequently ask company A for an extension on my start date? Or should I try to rescind my acceptance of the offer at company A and try my hand at company B, C in the hope that they work out? The problem is that I don’t know if the employee contract with company A is legal binding.

“They expressed their interest to have me as part of the organization…”
I want to wish you a great 2017. Thank you very much for all your support with my CV preparation and guidance to look for new professional options.
It has been a pleasure to meet you.
My meeting in California was really good. I had the opportunity to meet the board and owners of the company (start-up). They expressed their interest to have me as part of the organization. We continue to talk, because they have the next funding round in March. I am not in a rush. I will be patient to analyze and take the best decision.

“I got the very first operations job I applied for, in exactly the sector I was hoping to move.”
As I’m sure it’s nice to hear, I just wanted to let you know about my career change.
After leaving your office after our second meeting, I redid my resume and was prepared to patiently wait for the right job to come along right after the new year rolled around. However, one job seemed quite perfect and had just been posted the same week as our last meeting.
Long story short, taking your advice, it only took one application. I got the very first operations job I applied for, in exactly the sector I was hoping to move.
“This is great advice and great help.”
Thanks so much, Jeff. This is great advice and great help.

I officially accepted today, I think it will definitely lead to my next position in the non-profit world. I do have one question, just thinking ahead, when I do start applying to other jobs when this placement is almost up should I put “temp” next to my title so they know that’s why I was there for a short time?
“I got two offers after speaking with you.”

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with you. I appreciate your clear cut guidance and professional demeanor.”
Jeff,
I decided to take a computing course. It’s kind of a left turn, but I’ve done a lot of introspection and I really feel optimistic about pursuing this avenue. When I was conducting informational interviews one of the people I spoke with mentioned how helpful a background in web/email design would be for me given my experience and education. It will also allow me to express my creative side once I get the hang of it. So, I’ll give it a try and let you know how it goes.
As an aside, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with you. I appreciate your clear cut guidance and professional demeanor.
“All of the videos and info look really great, can’t wait to dive in!”
Hi Jeff,
