Jeff Neil did a wonderful job. I went to him for interview and resume coaching. It was extremely helpful. He identifies your strengths and how they can be used to achieve your goals. He is very clear and works step by step, starting with overall basics like the mindset you should have and what employers are seeking and then personalizes it to the individual case. It is easy to take notes and he provides you with lots of material so it's easy to follow. Best of all, he doesn't leave you hanging once the appointments are done. He was still very helpful and immediately replied when I needed his help for a cover letter. I would absolutely recommend him as a career coach.

I am a senior-level executive who was recently forced to make a career change and found Jeff while feeling angry, humiliated, and anxious about my viability in the current, atrocious job market. My prior jobs had all been obtained via reputation and so I had not conducted a job search in nearly 20 years -- I had no idea how to proceed. Jeff helped modernize my resume/cover letter templates, envisioned a persuasive, employer-oriented approach to my various employment "pitches,"and provided guidance regarding several "out of the box" tools for seeking employment in tough times. Some of his more unorthodox approaches to job seeking generated trepidation on my end, but he was extremely patient and logical when explaining how and why these methods work. As for his methodology: as others have mentioned, it is work-intensive, but well worth it from 3 perspectives: (i) it forces the jobseeker to use deliberation and insight as s/he progresses in the job search -- tools necessary for any successful endeavor; (ii) each step builds upon the next, making each successive step easier to execute; and (iii) it forces the jobseeker to very actively invest in his/her transition, psychologically building confidence and commitment to the process as it moves along. As a final note; Jeff never once attempted to "sell me" the next session or a package of sessions. Continuation was always up to me. This eliminated concerns that I might be sucked into a package that was good for Jeff, but not the client. In short, I have been extremely happy with the services I have received so far. Highly recommended.

I found Jeff on the Internet accidentally when I was looking for a resume writing service. I was in a rush to write a resume for a job a friend had me in mind for in my current field. The only problem was I really wanted to change fields. That gave me the idea that I probably could use a career coach. I contacted Jeff and was impressed with him right away. He suggested I read these reviews and I did. I then figured I'd give him a try. Jeff has been patient with me and very professional. First he provided me with a systematic way to help me figure out my current skills and determine which transfer to positions I am interested in. The next step was to create a resume. Jeff provided resume templates in a new format which I then used to create a resume specific to these positions. Jeff is also very helpful in providing someone who hasn't looked for a new job in awhile to take advantage of social networking and using other methods to try to nail job interviews. What I appreciate about Jeff is that he is very conscientious. He just doesn't just provide lip service but provides his clients with materials they can use to prepare for and conduct a job search. He also provides guidance during the sessions. However, you have to do the work (and there is a lot, especially if you are looking to change careers). What I can say is Jeff has helped me in providing direction in how to approach my career change and the tools I need to do it.

I worked with Jeff for one session. I had sent him my resume and the types of jobs I was targeting beforehand. When we had the session, he was well prepared with resume types and suggestions as well as ideas for how to handle certain interview questions, cover letters, etc. I was not sure when I left what to make of the session, but I made the suggested changes to my resume, used some of his interviewing suggestions, really got much more traction, and shortly after, received an offer for the type of role I was targeting. Jeff is an easy person to work with, is an extremely knowledgeable career counselor, and would use him again if the need arises.

Excellent service, well worth the money. I cant believe the session was only an hour long. Jeff was not only friendly, but compassionate, understanding and extremely professional. He has a natural speaking ability that makes you feel as if you have known him for years. He makes sure that the time spent on the phone is used to help you not only find out where you want to be, but how to get there. I have spent many weeks reading books on careerchanging but the amount of information and clarity I got from Jeff in only one hour cannot be found in any book. Working with Jeff was my first experience with a career coach and I am so thankful that I did. I met with him in person over several sessions. I was very skeptical of the idea of a professional coach and didn't really understand what this was all about. Wouldn't the effort be better spent looking for a job and just have a professional resume writer take care of the writing? I could not have had a better experience with Jeff. His approach was perfect for my situation and I am sure it would be for almost everyone. He really took the time to understand what I have done, what I am capable of, what I want to do and then help me craft a message. I've been looking for a full-time job in a new field for the past six months. After reading every career guide I could get my hands on, I find myself well-informed--but still unemployed! I first got acquainted with Jeff through the Internet. I did a search of "career coach NYC" and his name popped up. Some coaches shy away from giving advice and focus entirely on helping you access your own answers to your own challenges. Jeff employs a terrific mix of both approaches. Full of right-on, targeted job seeking advice - and stuff that's new even to someone like me who's been in HR for over a decade - as well as helping you bring your own experience and emotions to bear on the situation. He does his homework behind the scenes, too, for example looking things up for you before your session. He's open to e-mailed questions and updates between sessions. He doesn't pressure you to do any set amount of sessions but to use them as needed as is usually able to schedule a session within the week. Some of the best advice I could get I'm a public school teacher who sort of fell into the career, but after some years of teaching decided it was time to move on. The problem was, I had no idea where to go or what I wanted to do next. After one meeting with Jeff, I found a position that I felt was made for me.
